What is tumor Bladder?

Bladder is hollow organ in the pelvis with flexible, muscular walls. The function of bladders is to store urine before it leaves the body. The average adult bladder holds about 2 cups of urine. Urine is made by the kidneys and is then carried to the bladder through tubes called urethras. Bladder tumors develop when cells in the bladder begin to grow abnormally. Rather than grow and divide in an orderly way, these cells develop mutations that cause them to grow out of control and not die. These abnormal cells form a tumor.

What is Risk factor for bladder tumor?

There are several risk factors for bladder tumor:

    • Smoking

Smoking will increase the risk of bladder tumor. Smokers get bladder tumor at least 3 times as often as people who don’t smoke. This is because certain chemicals in tobacco smoke are absorbed from the lungs into the blood. Then from the blood they are filtered by the kidney and collect in the urine. These chemical in the urine damage the cells that line the inside of the bladder and increase the risk of tumor.

    • Work exposure

Some of the chemicals have been linked to ladder tumor. Those with the higher risks include the makers of rubber, leather, textile, dyes and pain product.

    • Race

Race is the one of the risk factor of bladder tumor. Whites are about twice as likely to get bladder cancer as are African American.

    • Age

Majority of the people who gets the bladder tumor are who’s the age over the age of 55.

    • Gender

Usually is more common in men than in women.

    • Personal history of bladder tumor

The people have had a tumor previously at any part of urinary have a higher chance to get bladder tumor.

    • Genes and family history

People who have the family members had bladder tumor have a higher risk. Other than that, people who inherit certain gene syndrome also have a higher risk of bladder tumor.

    • Arsenic

Arsenic in drinking water has been linked to a higher risk of bladder tumor.

    • Not drinking enough liquids.

People who drink lots of liquid each day have a lower rate of bladder tumor.

What is Sign and symptom of bladder tumor?

Each of the types of tumor has different symptom and the symptom difficult to treat at early of bladder tumor. There are several symptom of bladder tumor:

    • Blood in the urine

Blood in urine is the first sign of bladder tumor. In some case, blood is change the color of the urine. The urine may be very pale yellow-red, pink or less often or darker red.

    • Changes in bladder habits

Feeling pain or burning when going, or feeling as if need to go right away even when the bladder is not full can be symptoms of bladder tumor.
